| EPSON BRINGS YOU 1080P, … AGAIN !!!
Everywhere you look, reviews will tell you 1080P is the latest and greatest where video is concerned. Ahhh, but did you know that EPSON, a subsiduary of EPSON-SEIKO the inventor of 3-LCD, has already been ”selling” a magnificent 1080P projector to the public for 3 years now?
Why the buzz about 1080P ? 1080P is about 2 things: (a) to reproduce a video originally shot in 1080P, and (b) a video processor's ability to up-convert the video signal it's being fed to a much higher resolution. If you think of the video reolution you've been watching on cable TV for the past dozens of years, it's aproximately 260 lines of resolution - yes, that's right, the same resolution they were watching in 1953 !! DVD brought the image quality up to 525 ines of resolution which marked a significant improvement and now satellite fed HD signals at 1080 lines are making their way into the home.
The Epson HD projectors you've been seeing for Home Theatre have been upscaling these video signals to 1080 lines of resolution (* actually a better 720P (“P” for Progressive)). OK, now think of HD quality and double it !!! Yes, that's right. Instead of 1080 lines (or approximately 1 million pixels in “projector speak”), 1080P will be up-converting your video signal to nearly twice that. Incredible clarity that will fool you into thinking it's real. Ahh yes, but let's be clear (pardon the pun). Garbage in = garbage out. If you feed the projector (or any other video display device) a signal originally recorded in 1080P it should look stupendous. If you feed the unit a lower quality signal such as a regular cable TV signal, a DVD or an HD satellite feed, it will up-convert it, blemishes and all resulting in a less than desireable picture depending on the resolution of the original signal. And remember, the up-conversion process has undersired side effects to the process as well.

The Benefits of 3LCD
3LCD produces beautiful, vibrant images, making it today's best selling projection technology worldwide. From gorgeous, life-like colours to fluid rapid-motion video, the 3LCD experience is a better way to see - everything.
Vibrant Colour
Epson's 3LCD system faithfully reproduces the visible colour spectrum, so you see brilliant colours that rival real life. Especially in the darkest parts of images, the precision of each LCD panel allows for smooth transitions from light to dark, and colour to colour, for even the most subtle of changes. 3LCD's solid-state design gives you accurate colour registration, which means that you see crisp, detailed, precise images without any rainbow effect or colour break-up.
Detailed Images
Epson's 3LCD projection systems produce bright, clear, and high-contrast images. The brightness of the projector is particularly significant in semi-lit or artificial light environments, such as meeting rooms or lecture halls, where a brighter image creates a more defined picture. In darker home theater settings, 3LCD's high-contrast images make even the darkest scenes luminous and clear.
Efficient Design
Epson's projectors, televisions, and other 3LCD products are extremely well-designed, high-performance systems. For example, the 3LCD optical engines are optimized for excellent light conservation, bringing more photons of light to the screen than any other projection system. This attention to detail is part of the reason that Epson has been the number one brand of projectors sold worldwide.
Bottom line , buy the best projector for the application you'll be using it for and make sure you feed it with a high quality video signal so it will blow you away. This may be the new PRO CINEMA 1080 or even the excellent PRO CINEMA 810HQV . Ask one of our qualified salespeople which one is right for your home and application. We'll make it easy.
